Captain Bob grew up in the Cape Canaveral, FL area, went to
school at UCF in Orlando, and has lived in Jupiter, FL, since 1982. He holds a
USCG 100 ton Master’s License, and is a retired Mechanical Engineer, having
designed, built, and tested jet aircraft engines and rocket engines. He is a
lifetime member of the West Palm Beach Fishing Club and is on their Board of Directors.
He is a Heritage lifetime member of the CCA, a lifetime member of the IGFA, an
affiliated captain of the RFA, a member of the CSP, and has been on the SAFMC
Dolphin/Wahoo Advisory Panel since 2014. He started tagging sailfish and sharks
in the early 1980s and has participated in the DRP since 2005. He has fished
extensively throughout Florida, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean. He has released
all 9 species of billfish for an IGFA Royal Slam, won dozens of tournaments,
and guided his family to 5 IGFA world records. Four of his favorite fishing
days are 55 giant Bluefin tuna off Hatteras, NC, 21 blue marlin off Quepos,
Costa Rica, 4 blue marlin on fly off Quepos, and an IGFA Billfish Grand Slam
off Venezuela.
